The Chairman of the General Electricity Company Dr. Muhammad Omar Al-Mashai met at the headquarters of the General Electricity Company with the French company Total Energies, which specializes in oil production and alternative energy, headed by the company's regional director, Mr. Pascal Breant, in the presence of the company's board members and directors of the company's technical departments.
During the meeting, they discussed activating the localization project of 500-megawatt with solar energy and connecting it to the public network which would increase the production capacity This project is considered as the first eco- friendly alternative energy project to be established in Libya.
The Total company delegation confirmed their willingness to start establishing the solar energy project in a specific period of time agreed upon by the two sides and to introduce its production to the public network,They also agreed to expand the horizons of joint cooperation by establishing other projects according to a set and specified for a period of time plan .
Total company is considered one of the world's leading companies in this field, and it is ready to start its work and harness its capabilities to invest in the capabilities of the country that is rich in solar energy and converting it into a clean alternative energy as the experts in the company say.
